Peskov: Putin controls food disruptions in Far East, measures taken

MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- President Vladimir Putin controls the situation with food delivery disruptions because of overloading of the ports in Russia’s Far East, and the government is taking measures, presidential press-secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

“The Far Eastern ports are overloaded, the infrastructure can barely cope with the multiplied increase in cargo traffic, especially imports. Measures are being taken by the government. This issue is also under the president’s control,” Peskov said.

The overloading was caused by the recent effect of the post-pandemic increase in global trade, Peskov said.
